Creating a sustainable tomorrow

Our Guiding Principles

Our business is to connect our customers to their markets worldwide. Everything we do at Navigator Gas to achieve this, is underpinned by our ANCHOR values. These values are our guiding principles, and they help us deliver a safe, reliable and efficient service to our customers and to meet our responsibilities towards society and the environment we operate in.

Safety, Reliability & Efficiency

Creating a safe workplace for our seafarers and our office staff is our priority, and we consider this to be intrinsic to our success. Safety covers the full spectrum from safety and wellbeing of our employees and people affected by our work, through to process and systems safety. Our safety and environmental management systems are externally audited and verified against internationally recognised ISO standards.

A key strategic objective of ours is carbon reduction and innovative approaches to enhancing reliability and efficiency of our assets are essential components of reducing emissions and our environmental impact. This includes voyage optimisation techniques, using IMO-compliant fuel and identifying ways to off-set unavoidable emissions to achieve carbon neutrality.

Ethics & Compliance

Our most important assets are our employees, our business partners, and the communities in which we conduct our business. Our success hinges on creating trust and transparency, and for this reason, we define clear policies and expectations of our employees and partners to ensure we achieve the highest ethical standards.

To do this, we make a public commitment of our uncompromising approach to conducting business with integrity and to making decisions fairly, ethically, and transparently.

Social, Societal & Employee Relations

We have aligned our CSR activities around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 interlinked global goals represent a ‘blueprint’ cover a range of issues ranging from fulfilling addressing basic human needs eliminating poverty and hunger to responsible procurement and climate action.

Our CSR Working Group, an interdisciplinary group of individuals from all parts of the business, lead the drive to map all 17 of the SDGs to our company ANCHOR values. The outcome of this work helped us to identify which of the goals we will focus on first. These are:

Our CSR Working Group and our dedicated CSR Team are working to identify and implement projects, initiatives and novel ways of working in our business to support these SDGs and play our part in building a sustainable future.

We also recognise the need to support other organisations within the maritime industry, particularly those relying on the goodwill of others. We are proud supporter of International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN). Seafarers, particularly in present times, have an important role to play in facilitating global logistics. ISWAN works tirelessly to promote and support the welfare of seafarers all over the world.

Responsible Sales & Procurement

As a global leader in the transportation of liquified gases, it is important for us to build strong and long-lasting relationships with our customers and our partners. These relationships are built on a foundation of trust. We actively promote collaboration and stakeholder involvement in identifying and implementing the principles we believe are essential ingredients in creating a sustainable future.

Our Supply Chain Code of Conduct sets out the framework we use to build that trust and foster sustainable collaboration with new suppliers we work with, and we review existing supplier relationships from time to time. Our Code sets out our minimum requirements and also proposes voluntary commitments covering topics such as transparent reporting of CSR and environmental impacts.

Anti-Corruption & Human Rights

We conduct business worldwide and we are committed to the rule of law. That commitment means that we must comply with the laws and regulations of the countries, port states and other jurisdictions we operate in.

There is no place for bribery, facilitation payments or any other improper payment. We support the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour and child labour.

Our Company

Creating a fair, respectful, and inclusive workplace is one of our strengths. It makes us proud, and we work very hard to ensure that everyone at Navigator Gas is treated fairly and is afforded dignity and respect. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment directed at any individual or group with respect to, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, religion, family status, marital status, pregnancy, or sexual orientation.

UN Global Compact

Navigator Gas has become a participant of the United Nations Global Compact. We adopted a principles-based approach to conducting our business, and we have integrated the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into our business procedures, processes and documentation.
